I was debating between this one and a standard 3 barrel crimper, but decided on this one because of the design, how you don’t have to go over the same spot twice.The crimper is a little heavy, but I was able to do my whole head without issue. I set my timer for 6 seconds and it worked great for my thick hair.It took less than a minute to heat up and it beeps when it’s ready to move on.It does not feel like a cheap product, it feels sturdy and well made.My first impression suggestions would be not to get it too close to your scalp, 1 because it will burn, and 2 because it will leave a straight crimp line and be obvious. I have always pulled my shoulder length hair back and clipped it up, but I got sick of it and decided to cut it. I cut my hair into a short bob with some layering. I love my bob but felt it was too boring so I decided to try a hair waver. I tried the TYMAO ROVY beach wave curler (both sizes), the Farery 3 barrel hair waver (both sizes), the Wavytalk Cool Curl Pencil, and finally the Wavy talk Power Wave Hair Crimper. Out of all of these the Wavy talk Power Wave Hair Crimper was the absolute best for my hair! The Wavytalk Cool Curl Pencil came in a close 2nd. The first time I used the Wavytalk Crimper I started close to the root. When I was finished, my hair looked really funky and frizzy on the sides while the back looked perfect. Heats up fast, gives a beautiful beach wave, but you have to stay "on the right track" of the hair (if you've waved before, that should make sense). Its very obvious if you move off track. Also, its easy to grab too wide of a section, at which point your hair gets caught between the plates. Ouch. This was not my first waver. It does the trick, but it won't be my next.

This is a great waver and I use it often! I were extensions so the adjustable temp is a must. I have long fine hair and do not feel it has compromised the integrity of my hair at all It would work great with any hair length. Easy to use and not overly bulky like other wavers. Creates nice soft deep waves and you can get very close to the scalp if you want. The quality is good and overall I am very happy with this purchase.
