The overall quality is great and in line with what I've always seen from this brand. The entire tripod is very lightweight but when set up, provides a very stable platform to work with. I picked up the NEEWER TP63 to replace a shorter 60" tripod that I've been using in my home studio, primarily for portrait work.The TP63 is solidly constructed, which is pretty much exactly what I've come to expect from NEEWER. And despite its size and robust functionality, it's fairly lightweight. Now, it's certainly not carbon fiber lightweight, but I was expecting the TP63 to be considerably heavier. I'm happy to report that this is not the case. And it's certainly not anywhere near as expensive as a carbon fiber tripod.I also really like the extending leg latches. I've used plenty of tripods with twist locks, but I prefer latches as they're much easier to tell at a glance whether you've properly locked an extension down. I got this primarily for real estate photography, and the height is the biggest reason I like this tripod. Compared to my Sirui tripod, this gets close to twice as tall. There have been plenty of times when I'm photographing a property from an uneven street or on a hill and wish I had extra height. This solves that problem.I replaced the included ball head with a geared head, which I highly recommend for real estate photography. Being able to make small, precise adjustments makes leveling architectural shots much easier.There are a couple of tradeoffs for all that extra height.
