This is the first time I've tried to raise Monarchs, and this habitat has been extremely easy to use. The only issue I had were the tabs which were supposed to secure the cage to the ground. 2 of them broke off within a week! The other issue is wind. The first chrysalis fell down, so I immediately improvised and put the cage inside a huge bin. I used a cookie sheet on the bottom of the cage so I could easily pull the habitat in and out of the bin without shaking the habitat too much. Since doing that, I have released one butterfly, have two in chrysalis stage and one in last stage of caterpillar at the moment! I am so happy with this habitat, I have put another one on my Wishlist so I'll have two habitats to fill next year. Although we live next to a wetland, no other critters or unwanted

I am obsessed! This is my first time purchasing something like this. I planted swamp milkweed and parsley and dill. I have a lot of monarch butterflies and black swallowtails. 15 swallowtails at the moment! I wanted to protect them, so I purchased this. It’s so well-made, sturdy, and small mesh to prevent parasitic wasp from getting in. It opens from the front, but you can also unzip the bottom. I know it’s supposed to be standing upright, but I bought an above ground garden and I didn’t wanna upload all my plants so I laid it on its side. To safely protect my parsley and dill plants and all of my 15 caterpillars. 🤣 I definitely plan on buying two more of these. ❤️ there was no assembly. This is an excellent cage for rearing butterflies. Sturdy and convenient because you can fold it up.

I have been raising monarch butterflies for years. After losing many catipillars to predators (wasps, lizards and birds I decided it was time to protect them. This is my third butterfly habitat and I think it is the best! It is spaciouse and easy to access and clean. I always have different stages of butterly development going in this cage. It is a delight to see the progression from just hatched catipillar to the chrysilis to final butterfly. My grandchildren are in love with their baby butterflies. I find it very educational and a source of joy for all of us. Even my husband enjoys observing the process.

Large enough to put potted herbs in to feed the butterflies. Seems pretty secure to make it safe for butterflies, tho nothing is fool-proof. It's nice & tall. Price was good.Would be helpful to include a removable base that you can easily clean; something inexpensive that's washable.

We bought this because after planting butterfly / hummingbird / pollinator attractors, we had an explosion of geckos. We'd see monarch caterpillars but they'd become food rather than butterflies.In the Fall, I spotted a monarch suspiciously flitting near the milkweeds. I checked and found eggs on the underside. I moved the potted milkweed inside the habitat and watched as we had four beautiful butterflies emerge many days later. Success! I look forward to checking throughout our butterfly season.The habitat is large enough that our full-size milkweeds can grow inside. We can move a potted plant into the habitat. The zipper will close firmly against the drip lines I use to keep the plants watered.The only problem is that it takes a miracle to fold the tent back up. I just do not possess …

Very nice mesh enclosure to watch my monarchs go through their life cycles. This is my third purchase of this cage. I'm using the first two cages for the caterpillar's feeding, growing, changing into chrysalis, "hatching", and final release. I discovered that the caterpillars are voracious eaters so I'm using this third cage to grow milkweed and to keep the adults at bay while the plants bush out. Otherwise they will become covered with eggs and end up being denuded before the caterpillars grow large enough to metamorphize. It seems like you can never have enough milkweed to satisfy them so I decided to rotate the milkweed from the third cage as needed and then place the eaten plants from the other two cages back into the third cage to regrow and leaf out.As stated in my headline, the …

This is a quality heavy duty butterfly enclosure. I could easily fit parsley plant inside. It has loops at all four bottom corners to stake down like a tent (stakes included). Strong wires on all side seams. Popped up easily for instant set up. Very pleased overall. Found it to be very roomy for raising Swallowtail cats too. Price was good for 30” butterfly enclosure. Also, was very happy with informative booklet that was included about Monarch and Swallowtails. I am new to this and found it to be quite helpful. I’d definitely buy this item again.
